2007-2016 Jeep Wrangler RockBrawler II Rear Bumper w/ Tire Carrier (Black) by Poison Spyder Customs The RockBrawler II is the latest evolution in JK rear bumpers, incorporating many features requested by customers, and product improvements born of real world use and testing of the original RockBrawler. This bumper combines the best features to maximize performance on the toughest trails with some of the more refined traits not normally needed on a dedicated rock crawler. Its most prominent feature is the all new RockBrawler II Tire Carrier, which connects to the tailgate for easy, single-action opening. It's also slightly wider and deeper than the orignal RockBrawler for increased corner protection, and features an integrated hitch. This product is finished in black with Poison Spyder's proprietary SpyderShell Armor Coat process. The RockBrawler II Spare Tire Carrier's Single-Action-Opening feature is a huge convenience for when you're trying to open the tailgate and tire carrier with one hand, when you've got an armload of gear or groceries in the other. Rather than latching to itself, the RockBrawler II tire carrier is tethered to the tailgate so that they open and close in tandem. A custom designed tie-rod assembly, bumper mechanism and Tramp Stamp keep the two pieces perfectly aligned when open, but tight and rattle-free when closed. The RockBrawler II Spare Tire Carrier is fabricated entirely from CNC laser cut, precision brake-formed plate steel. The pieces are expertly welded together in a specially designed assembly fixture to ensure consistent fit and quality. A web gusset design is cut into the corner of the tire carrier to provide a little Poison Spyder flare. The extreme duty hinge assembly includes a precision CNC machined spindle and housing, with a pair of high quality Timken tapered roller bearings to provide smooth operation under the heaviest loads A spindle seal at the bottom of the hinge assembly keeps your lubrication in, and dirt and water out. The hinge assembly is capped with a CNC machined billet aluminum cap with the Spyder emblem machined in. The tire mount is adjustable up and down, as well as in and out, to accomodate a wide variety of tire sizes up to 39". The adjustability allows the tire to be mounted as low as possible for any tire size, to keep a low center of gravity. The included license plate mount places the license plate at the center of the spare tire, for those who choose to move it there. Unlike the original RockBrawler rear bumper, the RockBrawler II Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier does NOT obstruct the placement of the stock license plate frame, so the installer may choose to leave it in the stock location or move it to the center of the rear tire using the included bracket. We recommend relocating it, as the stock mount sticks out significantly from the side of the Jeep and is just begging to be torn off by a rock along the trail. If relocating the license plate, our License Plate Delete Cover and LED License Plate & 3rd Brake Light (each sold separately) will be useful in completing the relocation. SpyderShell is more than just powder coatingit's a complete system that includes the state of the art in preparation, application, materials and packaging to ensure that your SpyderShell products stay looking great for years. The SpyderShell process has been engineered to provide your Poison Spyder product with years of unmatched great looks, corrosion protection and weather-resistance. Our proprietary 6-stage system starts with media blasting the entire part, to remove contaminents and prep the metal surface for the best possible adhesion. Next, any seams are sealed with 3M Scotch-Weld to block moisture from entering and causing corrosion where the powder can not reach. The first coat to be applied is a zinc-rich powdered black primer, which is baked on to form an impenetrable bond between the metal product and the coating. The primer is black--rather than traditional gray--so that any rock chips or trail damage are less conspicuous. The final top coat is an industrial grade, "super-durable" architectural finish in semi-gloss black, which is engineered to retain its appearance through years of exposure to sun and weather. The RockBrawler II Rear Bumper's high clearance, multi-faceted design provides the best possible departure angles and corner obstacle clearance. Its appearance is streamlined and sexy, not like the squarish, boxy shape of many other bumpers on the market. The RockBrawler II Rear Bumper is slightly wider and deeper (front to back), when compared to the original RockBrawler™ Rear Bumper. This provides an increased degree of protection from corner impacts on the trail. The RockBrawler II Rear Bumper shell is constructed of CNC laser cut, brake-formed 3/16" plate steel. The multiple bends and facets actually lend even more strength to the bumper design. Unlike Poison Spyder's BFH Rear Bumper for JK, the RockBrawler II Rear Bumper can be mounted without cutting or altering the Jeep's frame rails. Very few JK rear bumpers come with provisions for mounting backup lamps. Of those that do, fewer still allow the use of high intensity, low power drawing LED lamps. The RockBrawler Rear Bumper's recessed light buckets accept 2-1/2" Round, Clear LED Lampsthe same backup lamps we've sold with our Crusher Corners™. The recessed buckets protect them from the rocks and direct light rearward rather than into the bumper interior, the way some competitor's bracket-mounted lamps do. Customers may choose to wire them into the reverse light circuit, or wire them to a separate dash switch as a loading or utility light. IMPORTANT: Note that the LED Lamps do NOT come with this bumper, they must be purchased separately. The integrated hitch receiver accepts standard 2" hitches and recovery accessories. It is built in to the structure of the RockBrawler II Rear Bumper in order to provide a higher clearance, tougher hitch that's there when you need it, but tucked up higher out of the way for better clearance and departure angles on the trail. Includes integrated safety chain loops. IMPORTANT: The integrated hitch receiver is not rated for towing. It is intended as a recovery attachment point only. The JK RockBrawler Rear Bumper incorporates an extra set of mounting bolts, along the bottom of the bumper which fasten into the rear crossmember. Combined with the mounting flange bolts at either side, the bumper is rigidly fastened by a total of 8 Grade 8 bolts, on three different planes to provide ultimate strength and rigidity to the mounted bumper. The drivers side "floating" flange allows for safe, secure tightening to the Jeep's frame rails regardless of manufacturing variances from the Jeep factory. The Heavy Duty Recovery Shackle Tabs are CNC machined from 1" thick steel billet, specifically designed to accept our Heavy Duty 3/4" Recovery Shackles. These tabs are designed to match the high clearance aspects of the rest of the bumper and minimized hang-ups. These Heavy Duty Recovery Shackle Tabs come as standard equipment on the RockBrawler II Rear Bumper. A custom Hi-Lift Jack Mount, available separately, is CNC laster cut and bolts to the top of the tire carrier. It features a distinctive web design to match the corner gusset detail on the RockBrawler II Tire Carrier, and mounts the Hi-Lift jack above and forward of the spare tire to keep it tucked up and away until needed.
